Due to the reduced diameter, there is hardly any post-operative pain, scarring is minimal, the probability of a trocar hernia is significantly reduced, and no suturing is required for the bladeless trocar incisions.

The use of special materials ensures uncompromised stability and strength of the AlphaDur® Fortis. Hence this instrument with its 2.7 mm diameter is comparable to laparoscopic instruments with a diameter of 5 mm.

The AlphaDur® Fortis instrument is available in three working lengths: 160 mm for pediatrics, 225 mm optimized for hernia procedures, and 300 mm for standard microinvasive surgeries.

The AlphaDur® Fortis is used in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, especially for procedures that require the smallest possible access points. This makes it an ideal choice for interventions such as:

  • NOTES (Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery)
  • SILS (Single Port Laparoscopic Surgery)
  • MILS (Minimal Incision Laparoscopic Surgery)

Due to the special material, extremely small trocar diameters can be used in combination with the instrument. This supports the standard triangulated technique, enabling nearly scarless surgeries with fewer complications, such as in hernia repair. It ensures precise dissection and suturing after a short learning curve and is highly durable for repeated use.
