Gimmi offers two light technologies: Xenon Light and LED Light. The LED light source AlphaLED illuminates the area being examined with white cold light for natural color reproduction. It offers a long-lasting performance and reliable support. The Alpha Xenon Light contains newest Xenon technologies with 300 W light output.
Our various AlphaNovoCams offer easy-to-use controls and are highly functional. Containing camera and video processor, they have multiple advantages: Digital zoom, different user settings and up to UHD-images are only a few of them. The camera captures the images and video of the area being examined.
Either automatic or manual locking, our TV-couplers are fully soakable, adaptable and offer zoom for HD or 4K imaging systems.
Offering various lengths and diameters, our light cables are the perfect fit to our LED light sources, they reliably support a high light intensity and easy handling. Due to a mechanical reinforcement, the cables offer bend protection and a high stability. The 90° angled version gives the user more freedom in his handling area.
Our AlphaDuoLap helps to inflate the examined area and improves visibility in laparoscopy. Our insufflator features an intelligent microprocessor: This Intelligent Insufflation System (ISS) analyzes in real time the pressure in the body and controls and automatically adapts the settings to avoid overpressure and low-pressure fluctuation. Thanks to the bariatric and pediatric mode, you can create a pneumoperitoneum adapted to the patient morphology.
Our AlphaVersaPump is adapted to single or continuous irrigation ensuring a constant flow of fluids from the area being examined – for laparoscopy, arthroscopy, urology, or hysteroscopy. Also taking into consideration the limited allowed pressure.

Why is the picture not in the desired condition?
Before using the camera, you must perform a white balance to achieve the best possible image. How to perform this is described in the IFU.
Why should I use TV-Swap Adapters for endoscopes?
For a sterile change of endoscopes during surgery from e.g. ⌀10 mm to ⌀5 mm, we recommend the use of a swap adapter. With this device, the user can maintain sterility in the easiest way.
Why should I use 4K camera instead of FullHD for an surgery?
The main advantage of 4K UHD imaging compared to FullHD is the amount of information, that can be reproduced. While FullHD analyzes the information with 1920 x 1080 pixels =2,073,600 pixels, the amount of information covered in 4K UHD is 3840 x 2160 = 8,294,400 pixels. Therefore, the 4K camera offers 4 times more information to the user.
How to improve the image of the camera in endoscopy?
The perception of the image is subjective. To improve this, the user has a lot of possibilities. The image is created from the interaction of various aspects:
- optics
- light source
- camera
- tv-adapter
- monitor
Due to this range, many adjustments are possible.
As a first step the user should try to adapt the light output of the light source and check the light transmitting cable for efficiency.
In the second step, the user must check all the other components for functionality.
Only in the third step we recommend changing settings of the camera. Here the user can change the color settings, gamma value, contrast, brightness, and more.
As a last step, the user can adjust the settings on the monitor.
Why should I use a heating tube, instead of more economic single use tubing for insufflation?
Research and studies show better postoperative outcomes if the insufflation gas is pre-heated and humidified. This shortens the hospital stay and doctor’s time. Additionally, this technique offers an ecologic benefit.

The BT.2020 color space is specified by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This color space is close to the color sensitivity of the human eye. Therefore, users experience very realistic images on their monitor. Our AlphaNovoCam 4K UHD can cover this BT.2020 color space.
